Kempton Vacation Rentals

          We are Jim and Cheryl Robertson.  We have lived and have raised our family on a beautiful forty acre farm here in the shadows of the Appalachian Mountains in rural Kempton, Pennsylvania.  Jim grew up less than a half mile away and has a deep appreciation for the local history, environment and deep rooted lives of the PA German people and culture.  Me, my ancestors arrived from Germany in 1763 and still inhabit the original Angstadt farmstead in Berks County.

 

          In 1981, the year we were married, we also started Robertson’s Renovations General Contracting, specializing in the remodeling of the many beautiful original homesteads, farmhouses and barns here in the Berks, Lehigh and Schuylkill county area.

 

          Jim’s parents, Bob and Sue Robertson, have been working with birds of prey their entire lives through the US Fish and Wildlife, as well as Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.  Jim has been working with them since he is a child.  I joined in with the adventures in 1990 after our children were old enough to participate.  The Robertson family has been honored on a state, national and worldwide level for the volunteerism and promotion of wildlife conservation. But, just because we have such deep roots here in Pennsylvania, we wanted our children to know of other cultures and experiences to help shape them into more well-rounded persons.  So, we started bartering Jim’s construction services to be able to allow us to travel.  

 

          Most times, we followed the birds on migration! Our adventures lead us to many places; Maine, Long Beach Island, the Outer Banks, St. Croix and Cape Coral, Florida, just to mention a few.  We fell in love with everyplace we went and started investing in vacation rental properties in some of the more special locations for our family and this was how the vacation rental business was created in 2001.Being good business owners, the properties need to be able to pay their own expenses.

 

          Our love of family, history, architecture, and making people feel welcome in our own home is also what has prompted us to purchase, remodel and share our family’s vacation rental homes with you.

 

          Naturally Beautiful, in Cape Coral, Florida allows us to continue banding and monitoring American Kestrels – not to mention enjoying the beautiful weather and Gulf water!  Kinder Hawk One Room Schoolhouse is an extension of our family farm.
